  • My homemade Kimchi

I decided to make kimchi today following Maangchi recipe, still waiting for the final kimchi taste, but so far, it smells so good, especially the kimchi paste, I skipped the raw oyster part, and since I only used on Napa cabbage, therefore, I cut all the ingredients down.
instead of using 1/2 cup of sweet rice flour, I only used one big tbsp of all purpose flour and followed the rest of the mixture formulas
And here are some pictures that I took during my Kimchi making process ,

    Cabbage before soaked with salt

Cabbage after 4 hour soaked with salt ( they shrink tremendously )

This is Kimchi paste ( smell so good ) yummi

    And my finished KIMCHI , ( )

  • Vienamese Tau Hu Ky( bean curd sheet with shrimp)

    DSC02371 copy

I am allergic to shrimp, ( sad to say) , If I eat shrimp, my lips will be red and swollen, bruises all over my face, and I feel extremely itchy

but I love bean curd, and Vietnamese Tau hu Ky ( or bean curd sheet with shrimp) is one of the famous dishes that Asian people adapt to make their own tastes.

I decided to make tau hu ky today, I have to admit that making a good, yummi , delicious Vietnamese dish is very time consuming, but the result is a good reward.

after finishing one roll of Tau hu ky, even though  my lips were already swollen and itchy, but since food has always been my passion , so going through all the pain to enjoy the dish that i like , it's worth the journey , at least for me, hihihihihihi

Reading my entry title, people are gonna be like this , what? Naan is Indian bread, and moving and selling are yet another things,

I seriously don't like Indian foods, can't stand the strong smell, but garlic Naan is yummi, My dishes today were garlic Naan and LAMB curry,

Below is Naan and Lamb curry ( So spicy..., ouzz, my lips were all red and swollen :)

  • Pasta Pomodora

Pasta Pomodoro _ a chain of casual and fresh Italian,

I love pasta and Italian food, the last time I tried Gypsy Pasta; this time my friends and I came  to Emery ville to enjoy the Bank Job movie and we decided to try foods in  Pasta Pomodoro.
we came on Saturday night, so finding a parking plot was just like a pain in the ass ~^^

the dining atmosphere in Pasta Pomodoro is casual and fits for a casual one night out of town.

Bruschetta_ Italian country bread and topped with extra virgin alive oil, and garlic, the pesto dipping sauce :  a mixture of basil, garlic, salt and olive oil,
I love the  soft and rich texture of the bread

and below was my main dish : Lagsana _ layers of beef, tomato sauce, pasta and cheese, YUMMY, YUMMY

look huge huh? but I didn't believe that I can be able to finish the whole dish, a little bit salty but overall was good,

the cons : the restaurant is a little bit prices for a hunger student like me, so even though it's a nice, fresh and casual Italian restaurant, I stick with my Gypsy

  • Botanical garden_ Berkeley

    Botanical garden_ part 1 :

Here come the picx that I took in Botanical Garden in Berkeley, damn, flowers are blooming, here you can see the largest flowers in the world and it only blooms once every 12-15 years or carnivorous plant that can eat insect, spiders and even RATS

    1. Titania_corpse flower _ blooms after 10-15 years of the corm's (like a bulb) growth and dormancy cycles. The flower stinks like a corpse when it blooms to attract carrion insects, which help pollinate it. When it blooms, the flower is huge. it is the largest unbranched inflorescence in the world. lucky me, I arrived right at the time the flower is blooming, fantastic,
